Terms of use
How AI GPS Map Camera handles your photos, location data and support messages — in plain language.
Short version: the app records what your device reports at the moment of capture. It is a recording tool, not a certifying authority — use it lawfully, and don't rely on it as a guarantee of legal proof.
1. Acceptance
These terms form an agreement between you and the operator of AI GPS Map Camera. By downloading or using the app, or by using aigpsmapcamera.com, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. Add the operator's registered legal name and address before launch.
2. What the app does
The app opens your camera and, at the moment you press the shutter, records the position, time and sensor values reported by your device — latitude, longitude, accuracy, altitude, bearing, date, time and time source — and writes them onto the photo together with a map tile and any text you add. It also stores a local capture record including a SHA-256 hash of the saved file.
3. No certification, no guarantee of admissibility
The app is a recording tool. It is not a notary, certifying authority, timestamping authority or forensic service, and it does not issue legally certified documents. Accuracy depends entirely on your device's GNSS hardware, signal conditions and clock. Whether any photo or record is accepted as evidence is decided by the recipient and by the law that applies to you. We make no representation that a stamped photo will be admissible, sufficient or persuasive in any proceeding, and words such as "proof", "verified" and "trusted" on our marketing pages describe what the app records, not a legal status it confers.
4. Your responsibilities
- Capture lawfully: respect privacy, property, workplace rules and any local restriction on photography (defence installations, airports, courts, hospitals and similar).
- Obtain any consent required before photographing identifiable people or private property, and before sharing a stamped photo that reveals someone's location.
- Do not use the app to fabricate, alter or misrepresent a record, or to mislead any person or authority.
- Do not modify, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to defeat the app's integrity checks, and do not use it to break any law.
- You are responsible for keeping backups; photos live on your device and can be lost if the device is lost, reset or damaged.
5. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own purposes (including internal business use). All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
6. Your photos and content
You keep all rights in the photos, videos and text you create. We claim no licence over them, because they are never uploaded to us. Anything you send to support is used only to answer you.
7. Our intellectual property
The app, its interface, the stamp layouts, the name "AI GPS Map Camera", the app icon and the website content are protected by intellectual-property law and may not be copied, redistributed or used as your own product. Apple, App Store, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of their respective owners; map data and tiles belong to the map provider and are used under its licence. Icons are from the Lucide set, used under the ISC licence.
8. App store terms
If you installed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply and prevail over these terms where they conflict. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement, have no obligation to provide support for the app, and are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce the relevant clauses (Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies where applicable).
9. Price, ads and future changes
The first release is free and contains no advertisements. We may later introduce advertising (for example Google AdMob) or paid features; if we do, we will say so in the app before the change applies, and update the privacy policy first. We will never introduce a charge for something you have already paid for without notice.
10. Warranties and disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that GPS fixes, addresses, times, weather values or map tiles are error-free, or that the app will work on every device or OS version. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or any loss arising from reliance on a location, timestamp or record produced by the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 / US$10. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or withdraw the app, or a feature, where necessary for legal, security or technical reasons; we will give notice where practicable.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of the operator's registered city have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally. Before starting proceedings, please email support@aigpsmapcamera.com so we can try to resolve the matter. Insert the operator's city before launch.
14. Changes
We may update these terms; the new version is posted here with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes are announced in the app. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
Drafted to cover the usual store, consumer and liability requirements, but this is not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it and complete every "before launch" item (operator name, address, city, map provider).
